Artist Lee Jeffries lives in Manchester, England.
A chance meeting with a young homeless girl on the streets of London changed his artistic approach forever. Lee recalls that, initially, he had stolen a photo from this young homeless girl huddled in a sleeping bag. Lee knew that the young girl had noticed him. His first reaction was to leave but something made him stay and talk to her.
After this experience, Lee’s perception about homeless people changed completely and they become the subject of his art. “Situations arose, and I made an effort to learn, to get to know each of my subjects before asking their permission to do their portrait.”
